Come and enjoy an activity on Dartmoor with the Rangers as part of the Ranger Ralph Club.
The Ranger Ralph Club is open to all children between the ages of 5-12 years and is ideal for the young nature enthusiast in your family.
Booking is essential for these activities as numbers are limited.
These events are for members of the Ranger Ralph Club only.
Events with the Rangers
Ranger Ralph meets on a regular basis, and each activity is safely led by a Dartmoor National Park Ranger.
The club runs up to twelve outdoor events per year. These are all free to attend once you are a member.
If you live locally, or are coming to Dartmoor when an event is on, why not book and join in. Remember to bring your membership card!
Build your own bat box
Come along and build your very own bat box to take home and put up around your house or garden!
Led by Ranger Luke, this hands-on session will show you how to assemble a bat box from timber, creating a safe and cosy place for our local bat species to rest and roost.
Name and Hang a Bat Box
Join us for an evening of bat box making, followed by a short walk to find the perfect spot to hang them.
Once your box is assembled, you can name and decorate it before we head out to explore the best places to put it. You’ll learn what makes a good location and how to give bats the best possible home. As the evening draws in, you might even hear or spot a bat or two.
Bookings are only taken from three weeks before each event.
If, for any reason, you find you cannot make the event, please call and cancel. This will give other people the opportunity to book. Sorry, but we do not allow dogs on our Ranger Ralph events.
