Learning through action

The Dartmoor Youth Rangers work year-round in varied locations, experiencing the challenges and rewards of protected landscapes.

Through outdoor activities and teamwork these young people are developing their skills and confidence whilst building a stronger connection to nature, conservation, and heritage.

The programme inspires valuable insight into countryside management and environmental careers, helping to inspire the next generation of people who will protect and champion Dartmoor.

About the programme

The Dartmoor Youth Rangers programme helps young people build a deeper understanding of Dartmoor National Park through hands on conservation, heritage, and team building.

Established in 2015, the programme gives young people aged 12 to 17 the opportunity to explore Dartmoor’s landscapes while developing practical skills and knowledge.
